Where did the time go? We have been doing SO much in year 5 this term, my feet have hardly touched the floor! If you want to read more about our achievements, ask our consultants to create a writing an interview paper so that you can familiarize yourself with all the goals achieved. In English we have been reading ‘Voyage of the Dawntreader’ and ‘Letters from a Lighthouse’, as well as sharpening our skills of poetry; I’m sure you are all familiar with the “old flyer, with a bellyful of fire!” by now. In Maths, the children have showed me a trick or two with multiplication, and in Science, we have been exploring how plants and animals change throughout the year. Our history topic has continued to be World War 2 and the children have shown great interest in the different events that changed the way we live today.

Christmas is coming and we still have many exciting things to learn before we break up, (“Oh no we haven’t!”)

There may be a few changes and strange things going on in the key stage area, and maybe even a surprise or two in the New Year, who knows…?
